Unit 8: Happy Ending

This last year, things weren't going to well for me. I'd arrived to Australia and the airport staff had also lost my packs. I was so upset and scared at the same time. then I got to my new residence in the University and my room partner was really rude and the room looked grouse. So I spent a lot of time trying to change from my room.

Everything changed for me the day I saw a tall boy with blond hair and blue eyes. From that moment my world had changed, he was perfect. Then I started meeting him on the University cafeteria until the day of my life arrived. He asked me to be his girlfrind.

These months, I feel much happier. Being with him by my side had made me see that sometimes you are happier if you are positive. If I hadn't moved to Australia, I'd never met the man of my life.



Unit 7: Changing laws

The goverment plans to introduce a new law which will mean to introduce school on Saturday. In my view, this would have some negative consequences.In the first place, I believe this would have a positive repercusation for our education but it won't be a good idea for teenagers. It probably improve our level in all the country. I think that this is unfair because on Saturdays the teenagers hang out and relax at home after a really hard week at the school. If teachers work, the state will have to pay them more and that's not a good idea because we are in crisis. There is an alternative method to achieve the goverment's aims that approved a new law. Finally, the alternative methods about the plans to introduce school on Saturday are with internet or like always, going to school. The results shouldn't be agreed for guys. If the aim of the government is to lower the number of people who leaves the studies, it seems to me that there's a better alternative: if they remove bad results, education in this country would be safer.

The story of Converse

Converse got their name from their inventor Marquis Converse. Marquis, started the Converse Company. In 1908 when they were invented they weren't really popular. They were made from rubber and canvas.

In 1920s they became special shoes for basketball, called the Converse All Star. They were promoted by players. After that they became the offical NBA shoes and they were popular with artists and musicians too.

These days, converse are less popular taht they used to be. The Company was sold to Nike in 2003, and now it seems to be more popular. In total 950 million pairs were sold by 2008.

How to write about plans for a visit

Hi Mathea,

I'm just writing to check that everything's OK for your visit. I think you'll like Catalonia. Actually, I've planned all for the weekend. It's going to be awesome!

On Saturday morning, we're going to take a bus and go to Girona where we will visit the old part of the city. My parents would like to meet you so... They are going to come with us and have lunch together. Then we're going to have a walk and maybe do some shopping. The afternoon plan it's up to you. On Sunday I have a perfect day. At nine o'clock in the morning we're leaving Banyoles to go to Barcelona, Catalonia's Capital. We'll call my uncle and he's going to take us there, he have a meeting there. We can go to "Tibidabo", it's a roller coaster park, it's going to be super fun!

We're going to meet at Barcelona's airport on Friday, so can you remind me what time your plane gets in?

The 2000s

This decade was one of the most important and refreshing decade ever. There were wars, crisis, but lots of good times to remember.

IN the world of music, the Rap and Hip Hop had reached the peak, in the entire world. It was amazing, how that kinds of music grew up, so fast. The best-selling artist of the decade was the American rapper Eminem, who sold 32 million albums. And the best selling female artist of the decade was Britney Spears. ONe of the saddest things of that decade, was on the 2009 when Micheal Jackson, the king of Pop, died.
And talking about cinema, I have to say, that Harry Potter, was the best-selling movie. But one of the most amazing things happened on 2009, with the amazing "Avatar", and their strange, but awesome details and characters.

In the world of Politic, one the most scaries things that happened was the attacks on the 11th of the September, from an Afghanistan group of peopole. One of the countries was United States.
An awesome thing that happened to United States was that in 2008, Barack Obama, was elected President of the USA, and he became the first African American U.S president.
